The idea behind this photograph was to answer a question to settle a long awaited debate. This photo was not just a visual but changed how we viewed everything. We learned that there is more to what we can see to the eye. The goal with my photograph was to slow down motion but with a different subject and action. Our human body can achieve more to what people set out to do. I teach karate, so being able to break down a complicated move allows me to point out important details that is very difficult to explain without showing what it looks like. The student can identify their mistakes and continue trying until achieving the move.

Muybridge's invention allowed him to view a series of negatives in a continuous segment, allowing him to view movement. By playing my negatives back to back, I can see where any mistakes in the move occurred, allowing the learning curve to advance quicker than without that invention.
